Welcome to Term 3!

I hope everyone enjoyed the break! Term 3 has got off to an exciting start with the commencement of our Swimming program. Students in JST and JSB are enjoying going each Wednesday to participate in swimming lessons. Thank you to our wonderful parent helpers who have assisted at the pool, as well as with hair drying back at school.

Our timetable has changed slightly this term, with Library now on a Monday, and Art has finished with Music lessons now on a Friday.

In Maths, we have begun learning about 2D and 3D shapes. Students enjoyed going on a Shape Hunt and recording what shapes they could find around the school.

We also explored what a tessellation is and how to make our own.

Our Inquiry topic 'May the force be with you' has begun, with students very excited and engaged with the topic. Students have also been asked to bring in some toys that use force for Show and Tell this term. Here are some great items that have been shared:

Mikhayla brought in her Mum's special childhood clock and explained to us how it works.

Harrison brought in some paper aeroplanes and demonstrated how to use them.

A friendly reminder that students need to complete their home reading each night, and practise their weekly spelling words at least 3 times a week. Another great website for practising weekly words is Word Safari - http://www.netrover.com/~kingskid/Safari/safari.htm
